Quique Sanchez Flores will be named as the new coach of Atletico de Madrid on Friday, only hours after the club announced that Abel Resino had been relieved of his duties.The 44-year-old has accepted the job at Vicente Calderon after Michael Laudrup was unable to agree terms with Los Colchoneros, according to reports in the Spanish media.Atletico sacked Resino after the Champions League drubbing by Chelsea in midweek, which meant that they have won just once in ten games.Sanchez Flores is expected to land in the Spanish capital on Friday afternoon and be presented to the media at a second press conference of the day.Several names were linked with the club, but both Marca and AS have confirmed that the former Valencia and Real Madrid player has been given the task of rejuvenating Atletico.After winning promotion with Getafe and keeping them in the top flight for a season, Sanchez Flores took the reins at Valencia, where he spent two seasons until leaving in 2007.The following year he moved to Portugal to manage Benfica, whom he led to a third-place finish in the league and victory in the Portuguese Cup before being sacked in June.
