Deportivo la Coruna 2 Atletico Madrid 1, La Liga, 21/Nov/09

A Sergio Aguero goal gave Atletico Madrid an early lead, but a first-half header from Diego Colotto and an injury time penalty from Jose Guardado earned Deportivo la Coruna a 2-1 win and the full three points.Atletico Madrid started out very well and broke the deadlock after only three minutes, when Sergio Aguero dispossessed Lopo near the edge of the box before sending a low drive into the far bottom corner. The home side responded well to the early deficit and managed to equalize in the 20th minute. A corner from the left was curled in to the near post, where a Depor man headed it across the face of the goal for Diego Colotto to head home. In the second half, the referee awarded a penalty in favor of Deportivo on 48 minutes but immediately reversed his decision after the linesman indicated there had been an offside. The hosts wasted a number of chances in the following minutes as they kept finding Sergio Asenjo in the way of the goal. In the 76th minute, a cross from the left fell to Lassad at the far post, and the striker's right-foot volley forced the Atletico keeper to pull off a good save to keep the scoreline level.Deportivo almost found the winning goal three minutes from stoppage time, when Andres Guardado tried to score from long range in what looked like a speculative shot, but Asenjo could not hold it, and Pablo Alvarez sent the rebound over the bar.The home side were awarded a penalty in the 92nd minute, after Pablo had brought down Lopo inside the box, and Guardado made no mistake from the spot, giving his side the victory.
